The iPad mini has arrived.

Date Added 24/10/2012

Apple launched their latest iOS device in San Jose yesterday, the iPad mini.

Tech specs for the new iPad mini include a 7.9-inch display with 1024x768 resolution, a dual-core A5 chip, FaceTime HD and iSight cameras and a battery life capable of up to 10 hours web surfing on Wi-Fi, watching video or listening to music.

All existing iPad apps will run on the new device and prices start from £269.

Apple also showed to the crowd a new (and incredibly slim) iMac. Scrapping the optical drive, the new iMac is just 5mm thin at its edge (40% less volume than the previous generation) and has a display with 75% less reflection.

The new iMacs will ship with 1TB hard drives and a 2.7GHz processor for the low-end model and a 3.2GHz processor for the high-end model.

Also announced was a MacBook Pro 13” with retina display and an updated Mac Mini.

That about wraps it up for Apple in 2012 in terms of major product releases. Here at the spot, we look forward to what Apple will release in 2013. We will most likely see new iPhones and iPads, but what we really want to know is, will Apple surprise us all yet again and launch the rumoured iTV? As always, Apple do not comment on rumours and speculation, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
